June of 2005 my family stayed for some days at the Taiwan Hotel in Beijing. We enjoyed the experience immensely.
First off all, Beijing is wonderful. The people are friendly, the prices of everything are low.
The Taiwan Hotel is located just half a block from the main shopping street, the Wangfujing Daije.
The hotel itself also has its own restaurant and we had breakfast there every day. They served both eastern and western foods.
The room was fine, faced the front of the hotel and quiet.
The hotel has a business center where you can use the Internet for a small fee. The gift shop in the lobby sold phone cards so that you can call home.
The hotel staff was helpful. If I go back I'd stay at the Taiwan hotel again.
